Here is what some of my students have to say about my technique:

"I decided to finally give Alexander technique a try because the chronic back and neck pain I was experiencing daily as a professional violinist got to be unbearable. I was prepared to focus all my attention on my posture when I play the violin. It was shocking to me that my initial sessions were more cerebral than physical, and yet my pain alleviated. I quickly learned that this technique encompasses so much more than good posture. First, through an understanding of the anatomy by examining a skeleton, I was shown how to most efficiently use my body. When it came my turn to apply what I learned, I became able to attain a lightness and ease in my actions by working less, being acutely self-aware, and connecting my mind and my body when I stand and play. By letting my mind do most of the "work", I am open to the possibility of transcending tension and any remains of physical pain. While Alexander technique will always be a work in progress, much like playing the violin, my new holistic sense of self magically frees my body which then allows all my energy to be directed towards the creative process of my playing music."
